Where does the time go, indeed?  It seems like just yesterday I was at the Danzapalooza event in Lisle, and here it is, a week later.  I sure wish my high school history class had gone by as quickly as this week has!

We’ve got a LOT of things going on, so mark your calendars:

  • Saturday, June 1st, is our dance at the Warrenville Community Building Gym from 7 – 10 pm (3S240 Warren Ave. in Warrenville).  Please welcome our guest DJ & Instructors, BOB & DENISE BOYLE, who’ve been leading the country dance community for more years than they are willing to admit.  Bob & Denise teach the “Up North” group of dancers at the White Eagle on Tuesday nights and run their own dances once a month, in addition to teaching at dance conventions and DJ’ing at the Swing ‘n’ Country dance club…and they will show you a rockin’ good time!  We have provided them with a list of the dances we rotate through, so you’ll hear familiar stuff, and I’ll bet you’ll want to add the two dances they will be teaching into the rotation.  You’re going to love them!

  • This Sunday, June 2nd, is FAMILY DAYS at Cadillac Ranch from 2 – 5:30.  Bring the kids/grandkids and show them what you REALLY do when you go out at night!
  • Next Saturday, June 8th, we’ll be dancing up a storm again at Overtime Bar & Grill from 8 pm – midnight (801 E. Roosevelt Road in Lombard).  They’re trying to introduce line & couples dancing to their clientele; pleases join us for a bite to eat and a different venue.  Their dance area was indoor/outdoor carpeting the last time we were there, so wear your leather-soled boots (suede/felt soles will stick; rubber soles may or may not, depending on the sole, so take care).  We’d love to see you there!
  • Next Sunday, June 9th, is Warrenville Park District’s first Boot Camp, with three 55 minute classes from 2 – 5:15, dinner, & open dancing till 10 pm for only $35.  At this point only the dance will be available separately for a $5 cover.  You’ll learn Cha Cha Del Rio, Two Step, & Nightclub from Gary, Askin’ Questions/Rockin’ the Wagon Wheel, Banjo, & Fake ID from Janet, & 4 beginner level dances (All Aboard, She’s a Firecracker, You’re So Naughty, & Jessico) plus 2 couples mixers from our guest instructor, MARY LOVE.  We’re so excited to have Mary join us; she’s been teaching in the Chicagoland area for years and has trained quite a few local instructors.  She and her husband Randy were super foundational in getting us started; Mary was one of the first people to tell me that Jeff should DJ.  She was right (and I’m glad we listened to her)!!

We hope to dance with you at one or all of these special events – which means we will DEFINITELY see you…on the dance floor!
