It was such a relief to be called OCD, actually – WOW, they really have a name for me? But instead of hanging my hat on being a card-carrying member of the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Club, I prefer to think of my self as CDO, like this perfect tee shirt states – an alphabetized, orderly, “normal” person. Whatever normal is! All I know is my nature is to want everything JUST SO, and that’s not reality. So I’ll settle for aiming for being organized.
Aiming is the operative word! Our DVD production line is cranking these DVD babies out (THANK YOU, Courtney!!), and the two volumes of Beginner 2 will be ready on Saturday. Hopefully the two Intermediate 1 volumes will be too, but as I am SO not perfect, I’ll just say that’s the goal. Thanks for your patience and support with them – you really did want them, didn’t you?? I am so amazed, and honored. Thank you so VERY much!!!!
A few events of note are coming up. First, on May 17th at 11:30 am, we’ll be dancing a 30 minute presentation of line dances at the Carol Stream Just Play event. I’ll post the final playlist by next week; so far I am only sure of a few dances (Hootenanny, I Walk Alone, Timber/Funky Slide, & Tush Push to Should’ve Been A Cowboy). Please don your Dance With Janet gear and come out and DANCE! Culver’s is my treat for all of us after the show, and as you know, the after party is just as good (if not better) than the party. Second, I am nearing a final decision on The Dance With Janet Cruise. I’ve been talking with Cheryl Price, our trip planner, and have chosen a destination (Western Caribbean, including Jamaica, Cayman Islands, & Cozumel) and month (early February 2015). We truly should have a flyer with all the numbers and info by next week. This too has been a difficult decision for me to make, as I am afraid of water and ships. Like, more than afraid – I swore I’d never go on a cruise. Thank you for bearing with me as I process this. I figure if you can bite the bullet and learn to dance, I can get on an ocean liner!!! (Did I really say that??)
I hope to see you this weekend! Friday the 21st (my daughter Jessica’s 25th birthday, can you believe that???) I’ll be teaching Timber, Thunderfoot, & Sugar Kane at Cadillac Ranch. This Sunday the 23rd I’ll be dancing my feet off at Sunday Nite Country in Warrenville, in the BIG GYM, from 5:30 – 9 pm at 3S260 Warren Ave ($10 admission covers dinner & dancing). Bring all your OCD/CDO friends, and I will
SEE YOU ON THE DANCE FLOOR!
