These are troubling times.  Never before have we had to deal with quite this kind of event as we are with the Coronavirus.  But things WILL be OK, and if you roll your eyes at me for my blind faith, so be it.  I struggle with trusting in the Lord too, believe me.  But I prefer it to panic.  I hope you are comforted by these words from Scripture, as I am:

“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

I chose the song “Wherever We Go” as the Dance With Janet theme song, so I smile as I see almost that same phrase in the above verse.  The Lord’s protection is over us, no doubt.  Take heart!  And take note of these UPDATED updates…

Our remaining host venues, Butterfield, Glendale Heights, & Darien Park Districts & the Wheaton VFW, have suspended line dance classes through the rest of the session (Easter). Since all Park Districts have shut down, they are still sorting out how to handle participants’ paid fees.  I’m certain we’ll hear once it’s decided.  Hopefully all this will shake out in April, but only time will tell.

I will start filming the current curriculum of the abbreviated Beginner 1 classes today.  Should you want to complete the lessons you have begun, you may order this course (three 60-minute videos FULLY teaching nine line dances) at for $24.  The classes will then be emailed to you as they are completed (you will receive all three videos within ten days), and you can learn from the safety of your own home.

The CDC has released new guidelines recommending no gatherings of over 50 people for the next 8 weeks. Then, the Surgeon General advised no groups over 10 meet through the end of the month, with re-evaluation to follow. The Dance With Janet group will now be fully impacted, so continuing to line dance is going to be even trickier now.

I will continue to be based out of the GENEVA AMERICAN LEGION, 22 S. 2nd St. in Geneva, as I will be personally sanitizing it.  Our Tuesday and weekend dances will be SUSPENDED thru the end of March. I only feel comfortable offering a few in-person classes, as we would probably cap at 10 on our own.  Please note our revised, limited schedule, starting TODAY, through Easter (so far):

In-Person Line Dance Lessons ($8 each):

ONLINE/VIRTUAL CLASSES will run on Wednesdays as usual (Beginner 2 from 5:30 – 6:45 & Intermediate from 7:00 – 8:30). I’m filming from home, as I cannot stop dancing for a month. Register by 8:00 pm tomorrow at; you will receive the recording within 48 hours.

YOU are the best judge of your own health and activities.  If you decide you feel well and would like to continue your line dancing in person, I will be here.  All my classes will be learning TRAGEDY (no pun intended), choreographed by Lynn Card, for the rest of the month. We will also be reviewing other dances we’ve been working on so we don’t forget them. The American Legion is unoccupied for the next few weeks, so we’ll be the only ones using it.  I will continue sanitizing the doorknobs, light switches, counter tops, tables, and restrooms before each class and dance.  If the weather is nice, I’ll prop the door open for some fresh air.  With this plan and personal attention to proactive cleaning, I feel comfortable with this decision.  If you do too, I’ll see you there.

So far, Instructor Training is still ON. I had already capped it at 10. 🙂

Take your vitamins, get your rest, and wash your hands!  Have faith.  The Lord is in control, and He has NOT left us.  Everything will be okay.

Love ya!
