As this situation with the Coronavirus develops, I am even more grateful for the completion of a successful and healthy cruise. We got off that ship in the nick of time! Princess, Viking, & Disney cruises are now suspended. Let’s all keep taking our vitamins, getting our rest, and WASHING OUR HANDS!!! The proven killer of this virus is SOAP!!!!

The Illinois Department of Public Health has issued a strong recommendation for those serving the older population to close their doors until further notice, which at this point means the month of March. Therefore WE WILL NOT BE OFFERING LINE DANCING IN MARCH at the following locations:

– Elgin Senior Center
– Hanover Township Senior Center
– Schaumburg Barn
– Brookdale Senior Living
– Overture Senior Living
– Hoffman Estates Senior Center
– Wheaton Community Center (Sunday 3/15)
– Wheaton VFW (Tuesday 3/17)
– Fermilab’s Kuhn Barn (Saturday 3/28)

As you know, gatherings in general are being postponed worldwide. However, we are a small enough group that we can still meet in relative safety to dance, as long as we feel healthy. We can relocate our Sunday BRIDGE Dance AND Tuesday Country Dance Party to the Geneva American Legion. Would you attend? I will move these dances if you will, but I need to know by NOON TOMORROW, 3/14.
Sunday 3/15 – YES or NO
Tuesday 3/17 – YES or NO

So far, classes WILL STILL MEET at the following locations:

– Bowes Creek
– Glendale Heights Park District
– Wheaton Park District
– Warrenville Park District
– Bloomingdale Park District
– Geneva American Legion
– Wheaton VFW DanceAttics
– Butterfield Park District
– Darien Park District

VIRTUAL CLASSES are an  excellent substitute for missing classes due to this virus situation. I’m even considering running the Sunday’s dance virtually (aka streaming it live). I understand that it is not anything like being in a room full of people dancing together, but it does get us exercising, dancing to music, and retaining the dances that we’ve already learned. Go to for more info.

Instructor Training for the weekend of March 21st – 22nd IS STILL ON. I have room for only ONE MORE PERSON. We will be meeting at my home, which is not a public place, so we should be fine. Please visit to register. I plan to dance at Saddle Up Saturday night the 21st, as long as this social gathering situation has not escalated.

My daughter Katie has access to her home studio, Heart & Sole, and they just replaced their dance floor, which gives them the best one in the state! She is offering a Country Dance Night both this Saturday and next (if next week’s Saddle Up option falls through) starting at 8:15, for $10 cover. Because Heart & Sole is a private studio, attendance is lower, so again, we should be able to dance in relative safety. I plan to attend tomorrow. Their address is:

1691 New Lenox Road
Joliet, Illinois 60433
Please stay tuned for further developments. Stay well!!!

Love ya!
