Really? MORE changes. I keep reminding myself that God doesn't give me more than I can bear, and that being weak is OK, because He is strong and it's His strength that will get me through, not mine. Good thing, that, because of all the celebrity passings, none has hit me like the loss of Robin Williams. The funniest man on the planet, so depressed that he took his own life? Incomprehensible. And yet we are all human. Life is rough for everyone. And depressing. I am mourning his death, as are countless others, and encourage us ALL to get help if the pressures of life threaten to overwhelm us, as they did him. Life is hard…but God is good.
I take a bit of comfort in the routines of life. Of course that doesn't remove pain, but it's a band-aid that can help. One routine event that is changing this week is RANCHEROS TOMORROW 8/14 – we WILL NOT DANCE tomorrow evening, due to the Bears' game. We'll see you there NEXT WEEK 8/21.
Additionally, we perform at the Kane County Fairgrounds for their Festival of the Horse And DrumTHIS SATURDAY from 5:45 – 6:30 pm. CALL IS 5:15. Please wear your Dance With Janet shirt if you have one (the newest order has arrived, so I'll distribute those shirts this week). I will be there to lead the show, and have heard a request to "go play" somewhere afterwards…let's do it!!!
Playlist is as follows (when "floor" is split, as we face the audience, the BEGINNER dance will be on the LEFT and the INTERMEDIATE dance will be on the RIGHT):
- Funky Slide/Timber (to Timber)
- Love Repeats (to Love You Like A Love Song)
- Hootenanny (to Farm Party)
- Cut A Rug/Imelda's Way (to Inside Out)
- Sugar Kane (to It Happens)
- Cowgirl's Twist/Happy (to Happy)
- Tush Push (to Should've Been A Cowboy)
- I Walk Alone (to I Walk Alone)
…and then we'll invite the audience to dance with us to some easy dances, like Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide, & Cha Cha Slide.
Regardless of the changes in life, I will still see you on the dance floor!
