What?  It’s not Thanksgiving?  Coulda fooled me, cuz it feels like it to me.  Happy Thanksgiving to us all…because Thanksgiving is the OFFICIAL day to say thanks, and I’m saying it this February day.

Last night was a toughie for me; I was pretty upset.  Some friends I made on the dance floor came through for me, and I am so grateful.  Thank you, Sherri & Rosemary, for helping me.  When I am down, I feel very isolated and alone, which just makes that “down” feeling plunge even lower, you know?  I’ve spent most of my life feeling like a loner.  I remember thinking, I need help, and I have no one to go to.  NOT TRUE – we all do!  And as a reminder, simply thinking something isn’t true doesn’t mean it isn’t true!!!!  Truth is truth, and all I had to do was look around and reach out, and take a chance.  I did, and asked, “Will you help me?”, and they did.  I am reminded of the X Men movie where a pivital moment was identified as to when things changed.  My moment was in 1998, when I first signed up for dance lessons.  Every fabulous person I met came from that decision.  Thank you, EVERYONE (and especially Sherri & Rosemary) for enhancing my life!!!  I am so thankful for you all!

I’m looking forward to dancing with you all again tonight at Cadillac Ranch (I’ll be teaching Funky Cowboy, Sun Daze, & Cut A Rug) and tomorrow night in Warrenville (I’ll be teaching EZ Bang Bang & Uptown Funky).  I just love the warm fuzzies that dancing generates!

We’re wrapping up another session of dance classes, with a few still meeting this week (Monday at Windsor Park, Wednesday in Warrenville & Wheaton, and Thursday in St. Charles).  We begin a new on Monday, March 2nd, with Couples Patterns starting on Monday March 9th.  Please visit www.dancewithjanet.com/teachingschedule for registration details.  Swing ‘n’ Country’s Dance Camp kicks off this Thursday, February 27 in Elmhurst, with couples lessons and open dancing galore (and SHOES!!!  Dance Conventions = Shoe Shopping Opportunities; no admission ticket required to shop).  I highly recommend this local event for improving on your couples dancing; you need not bring a partner as dancers rotate during lessons.

Thankful to be seeing you on the dance floor,

Janet Kruse
