Have you heard that people line dance as young as 4, and as old as…well, I’m not sure!?  Varonne has been dancing for quite a while, and tonight we’ll be celebrating her 92nd BIRTHDAY at our dance at the West Chicago VFW 6791.  Come join the party!  She’s asked for no presents, just dances with the fellas!  We have a floor for the line dancers adjacent to a floor for the couples dancers, so gentlemen, you’ll have plenty of chances to snatch Varonne for a dance!  Hopefully fellow birthday boys Michael and Patrick will be around to pose for pictures with her!

It’s such a privilege and blessing to be part of this community, with people of every age from every walk of life represented.  We’ve all been inspired by Varonne’s dedication and participation in country dancing for decades.  We’ve met lifelong friends.  Every dance night is a huge party with people laughing and chatting and having GOOD CLEAN FUN together.  One unforgettable time was a dance being danced TOWARDS ALL FOUR WALLS AT ONCE…that was kind of a mess.  But it was a BLAST!!!  If you haven’t tried this yet, what are you waiting for?  There’s simply no negatives here.

Our next performance together is the Memorial Day parade in Itasca.  Directions and other details are at www.dancewithjanet.com/calendar; call is 8:45 am.  Wear your DWJ shirts and blue denim bottoms and lather on the sunscreen!  Bonnie has invited us to her pool after the parade; we’ll catch ice cream at McDonald’s before that.  We’ll be dancing:

  • Good Morning (to Good Morning)
  • Mamma Maria (to Cake By The Ocean)
  • Jan Loves To Boogie (to Shake Your Groove Thing)
  • Shut Up & Dance (to Shut Up & Dance)
  • Lindi Shuffle (to Friday Night)
  • Cowboy Up (to Power of Love)

And we’ll be back dancing at Fermilab’s Kuhn Barn again tomorrow!!!

Can’t wait to dance with you again soon!!
